Torneko: The Last Hope is a roguelike dungeon crawler starring Torneko, the merchant from the Dragon Quest series. You explore dungeons whose layouts are generated anew each time you enter, moving one step at a time while monsters take their turns in response. Combat, item use, and even walking all advance the clock, so positioning and item management matter as much as raw strength. Torneko begins each dungeon run stripped of the levels and equipment he gained previously in the deeper challenges, which pushes you to learn enemy behavior and make use of scrolls, herbs, staves, and weapons found along the way. Between expeditions you return to town to store goods and prepare. Hunger drains as you explore, forcing you to keep moving downward rather than mapping every corridor.
