Treasure Planet on PlayStation is an action game based on the Disney animated film of the same name. You take the role of Jim Hawkins as the story follows the voyage in search of a legendary treasure hoard, moving through stages drawn from locations in the movie. Play mixes platforming and light combat, with running, jumping and climbing through hazard-filled environments alongside sequences that make use of the film's solar surfer board. Cutscenes and character art tie the levels together and retell the plot for players familiar with the film. The presentation and control scheme are aimed at a younger audience, with straightforward objectives in each stage and checkpoints along the way rather than deep systems or long-term progression.
