Tunnel B1 is a vehicular shooter for the PlayStation in which you pilot a hovering combat craft through a network of underground tunnels and industrial complexes. The view is behind the vehicle as you thread through narrow passageways, taking on turrets, drones and other defences with your weapons while watching your shields and fuel. Levels are built as enclosed corridors and chambers with doors, switches and hazards, so progress involves finding the right route as well as clearing enemies, and there are power-ups and weapon pickups scattered through the environments. The presentation uses dark metallic tunnels, coloured lighting and pre-rendered cutscenes between missions. Speed and tight spaces make manoeuvring and avoiding walls as important as shooting.
