Twisted Metal 2 is a vehicular combat game for the PlayStation. You pick a driver and armed vehicle, then battle rivals across arenas set in cities around the world, including locations such as Paris, Moscow and Hong Kong. Each vehicle has its own handling, armor and a unique special attack, and stages are stocked with missiles, mines, health and other pickups. Levels contain destructible structures, hidden areas and environmental hazards, and drivers can perform maneuvers such as freeze attacks and jumps. The tournament mode links the stages together with animated endings for each character, while a split-screen versus mode supports two players. Combat is fast and arena-based, mixing driving with constant weapon management and positioning.
