Twisted Metal 4 is a vehicular combat game for the PlayStation. You select a driver and armed vehicle and fight in enclosed arenas until only one competitor is left. Vehicles differ in speed, armor and special weapons, and each arena is filled with weapon pickups, health and destructible scenery to use as cover or as a weapon. The roster mixes returning faces with new entrants, and the game includes a car creation option that lets you adjust a vehicle's attributes and appearance. Alongside the single-player tournament, multiplayer battles are supported in split screen. As with the rest of the series, play centers on circling opponents, managing missiles and mines, and grabbing pickups before your rivals do.
