Tyco R/C is a racing game for the original PlayStation built around radio-controlled cars. You drive miniature vehicles through courses laid out in oversized everyday environments, where ordinary household and outdoor objects become obstacles, ramps and track boundaries. Handling reflects the small, lightweight nature of the cars, with plenty of sliding, jumping and recovery from awkward landings. Races take place against rival RC vehicles, and shortcuts and hazards are worked into the layouts to reward learning each course. The game uses the Tyco radio-controlled toy line as its licence, with vehicles drawn from that range. Modes include standard racing along with additional event types, and the scaled-down perspective is the central hook of the whole design.
