Valkyria Chronicles 2 is a tactical role-playing game for PSP that mixes turn-based planning with real-time movement. On each turn you spend command points to select a soldier, then steer that unit directly across the battlefield while enemy fire continues, stopping to aim and shoot from a third-person view. Missions are broken into smaller maps suited to portable play, with objectives ranging from capturing bases to destroying armored targets. Your troops are drawn from a military academy setting, and the story unfolds through classroom terms, character conversations and side missions between battles. Soldiers belong to classes such as scouts, shocktroopers, lancers and engineers, and can be trained into more specialized roles as you progress. Weapons and tanks can be researched and customized, and individual personality traits affect performance in the field.
