Virtua Tennis World Tour is the PSP entry in Sega's arcade tennis series. Rallies use the series' simple control scheme, with shot type selected by button and placement determined by timing and direction, keeping points fast rather than simulation-heavy. Beyond exhibition singles and doubles matches, the World Tour mode has you create a player, travel a calendar of tournaments, earn money and rankings, and improve attributes through training. Training sessions are structured as short minigames that turn tennis fundamentals into arcade challenges. Licensed professional players are included as opponents and selectable characters, and matches are played across different court surfaces. Wireless play supports matches against another PSP owner. The handheld format suits the game's short, self-contained matches.
