Warhammer: Dark Omen is a real-time tactical battle game based on the Warhammer Fantasy setting. Rather than gathering resources or constructing bases, you manoeuvre regiments of troops across 3D battlefields, using terrain, flanking and charge timing to break enemy formations. Your army is a mercenary company led by Morgan Bernhardt, and units that survive an engagement carry their experience into later battles. Between fights you spend earned gold to hire new regiments, replace casualties and buy equipment, so losses have lasting consequences. Troop types include infantry blocks, cavalry, missile units and artillery, alongside wizards who cast spells during combat, and the campaign sends you against foes such as greenskins and the undead. The PlayStation version plays with a controller-driven interface for issuing orders to your regiments.
