Warhawk is a flight combat game for the original PlayStation in which you pilot a heavily armed craft through a series of mission-based stages. Flight is arcade-oriented rather than simulation-focused, with the emphasis on manoeuvring around canyons, valleys and open skies while engaging aircraft, ground vehicles, gun emplacements and larger boss craft. Your Warhawk can hover and strafe as well as fly forward, which matters during close-quarters fights and when lining up on ground targets. A range of weapons is available beyond the standard cannon, including homing missiles and heavier ordnance with limited ammunition, so you manage your loadout across an objective. Missions are linked by full-motion video sequences that carry the story between stages, and the game is played from a behind-the-craft view.
