Whiplash is a third-person action platformer built around a pair of test animals chained together inside a laboratory. You control a weasel, with a rabbit permanently attached by a length of chain, and the two are used as a single tool: you swing, whip and fling your partner into enemies, switches, machinery and breakable objects to clear a path. The rabbit is effectively indestructible, which the game leans on for both puzzle solving and slapstick. Levels run through the labs and facilities of the company holding you captive, mixing platform jumping, combat and environmental destruction, with sabotage and property damage encouraged as you go. The tone is comedic and cartoonish throughout, with the two characters bickering as you play.
