Play emphasises deliberate build-up, with manual passing weight, through balls, and player momentum that makes turning and shielding the ball matter. Modes include friendly exhibition matches, cup and league competitions, training, and the long-running Master League, in which you take charge of a club, manage a squad through seasons, and buy and sell players using in-game points. Team and player licensing is partial, so some sides and names are unofficial while others are correct. Matches support multiple players on one console, and options let you adjust match length, difficulty and formations before kickoff.
