Wipeout Pure is an anti-gravity racing game for PSP. You fly hovering craft representing rival teams through futuristic circuits, holding lines with air brakes and pitch control while weapon pads supply missiles, mines, shields and speed boosts. Shield energy depletes as you take weapon hits and scrape walls, and pickups can be absorbed to top it back up. The single-player structure runs through race classes and championships at escalating speed classes, alongside time trials and other event types, with additional ships and tracks unlocked by placing well. Wireless multiplayer supports racing against other players, and the game offered downloadable content packs adding further circuits and skins. Presentation follows the series with a graphic-design-led interface and an electronic soundtrack.
