Worms is a turn-based artillery game for the PlayStation. You command a small squad of cartoon worms on a 2D landscape and take turns moving, aiming and firing at the opposing teams, with the goal of wiping them out. Weapons range from the straightforward bazooka, shotgun and grenades to explosives and utility items such as the ninja rope and girders, which let you cross gaps and reshape the battlefield. Wind affects the flight of thrown and launched projectiles, and terrain is destructible, so each shot changes the map and can leave worms exposed or stranded above water. Turns run on a timer, keeping matches moving. You can play against computer-controlled teams or pass the controller between friends, and teams can be named and customised.
