WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game brings the digitized-sprite wrestling brawler to the PlayStation. It plays less like a wrestling simulation and more like a fighting game, with combo strings, special-move inputs and over-the-top attacks that ignore real-world physics. Wrestlers pull off exaggerated finishers, and matches move at a fast pace with health bars rather than pinfall grinding. The roster is drawn from mid-1990s WWF talent, including Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Razor Ramon, Yokozuna, Doink the Clown, Bam Bam Bigelow and Lex Luger. You can work through a single-player ladder against the computer or play head-to-head, and multi-wrestler matches let more than two competitors fight at once. Presentation uses digitized photography of the performers, arena crowds and commentary-style flourishes typical of the era's arcade conversions.
