X-Men Origins: Wolverine on PSP is a handheld action game based on the Wolverine film. You control Logan through a series of combat-focused stages, using claw strikes, grabs and finishing moves against waves of soldiers and mutant enemies, with boss fights punctuating the story. His healing factor recovers damage over time when you stay out of trouble, so encounters push you to keep attacking. Experience earned in combat feeds into upgrades that expand Wolverine's move set and abilities. Between fights there are platforming and traversal sections, and cutscenes carry the plot along the film's version of the character's past. The PSP release is a separate build from the versions made for home consoles, with level layouts and presentation scaled to the handheld.
