X2: Wolverine's Revenge is a third-person action game starring Logan. You fight through levels using claw combos, grabs and stealth kills, with an emphasis on approaching enemies unseen when possible rather than taking on every guard head-on. Wolverine's heightened senses can be used to highlight enemies, patrol routes and points of interest, and his healing factor recovers damage between fights. The story is built around a lethal virus in Wolverine's body that gives the plot a ticking clock as he searches for a cure and pieces together his past. Levels mix combat with climbing, jumping and environmental navigation, ending in boss encounters against figures from the X-Men comics. Upgrades and unlockable extras are earned by completing objectives and finding hidden items during play.
