Xena: Warrior Princess for the PlayStation is a third-person action game based on the television series. You play as Xena, moving through 3D environments and fighting waves of soldiers, beasts and other enemies. Combat mixes sword swings and hand-to-hand strikes with her thrown chakram, which can be aimed at distant targets and objects, and the acrobatic flips and kicks associated with the character on screen. Levels string together arena-style fights with some exploration, switch-hunting and platforming between encounters, and bosses cap off sections of the story. Presentation leans on the show's setting of mythic Greece, with voice work and cutscenes carrying the plot between stages. Camera controls and a lock-on help keep track of enemies during larger brawls.
