XG3 Extreme G Racing is a futuristic motorcycle racing game for the PlayStation 2. You ride heavily armed bikes on enclosed circuits made up of tunnels, sharp banked corners and long high-speed straights, with visual effects used to sell the sensation of extreme velocity. Weapon pickups on the track allow you to attack opponents while boost use and cornering lines determine lap times. Success in races opens up further machines and courses, and the available bikes vary in acceleration, top speed and handling. The game offers championship progression alongside individual races and time trial modes, and supports split-screen racing for two players. Handling is arcade-style, so learning the layout of each circuit and managing boost are more important than realistic physics.
