Chessmaster II is a PlayStation entry in the Chessmaster line of computer chess programs. You play standard chess against the console's engine, with difficulty levels that let you set the strength of your opponent from beginner-friendly up to a serious challenge, or play against a second person taking turns on the same machine. The presentation includes selectable board and piece styles, and moves are entered by moving a cursor around the board with the controller.
