Croc is a 3D platformer for the PlayStation starring a young crocodile who sets out to rescue the small furry Gobbos from a villain who has captured them. Levels are self-contained obstacle courses viewed from behind Croc, filled with moving platforms, pits, spikes and enemies, and you clear them by jumping, using a tail swipe attack and stomping on hazards. Hidden Gobbos are tucked away in each stage, and finding all of them along with coloured crystals opens up extra content. Worlds are themed around settings such as grassland, ice, caves and lava, each ending with a boss encounter. Health is tracked by crystals you collect and lose when hit, so exploration is balanced against staying stocked up. Controls follow a grid-like, tank-style scheme for turning and moving Croc through the environments.
