Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon on the original Xbox is an action game based on the wuxia martial arts film. You control characters from the story and fight through stages using hand-to-hand strikes, sword work, and the acrobatic, gravity-defying movement the film is known for, including wall running and leaping between rooftops and treetops. Combat is combo-driven, mixing light and heavy attacks with counters, and progress involves clearing groups of enemies before reaching boss encounters. Environments draw on the film's settings, including courtyards, interiors, and open landscapes, and cutscenes carry the plot between missions. Play is in third person with a camera that follows behind the character. The Xbox version runs on the console's standard controller and supports the system's video output options.
