Driver 2 Advance brings the Driver series' mission-based driving to the Game Boy Advance, with the action shown from an overhead viewpoint rather than the behind-the-car camera of the console games. You take driving jobs around city streets, tailing targets, escaping police pursuit, and reaching destinations before a timer expires, using handbrake turns and tight cornering to shake off pursuers. Cars slide noticeably, and traffic and police vehicles fill the roads as you drive. Your car takes damage over the course of a mission, and wrecking it or running out of time means starting the job again. Between missions the story is carried by short scenes. The overhead presentation keeps a wide view of surrounding streets, which suits the constant navigation the missions ask of you.
