Lumines II is a PSP puzzle game and a sequel to Lumines, keeping the same core system: two-by-two blocks of light and dark squares drop into the field, and squares you form of a single colour are erased by a timeline that sweeps across the screen in rhythm with the music. Chaining several squares into one pass of the line is the key to high scores. Skins change the visuals, block styles and soundtrack as a session progresses, and this entry adds music video sequences using licensed tracks alongside its electronic-leaning audio. Alongside the main endless mode, the game includes additional single-player modes and head-to-head play. As before, the pace increases as you advance, and sessions suit the handheld format's short bursts of play.
