Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is a PlayStation Portable remake of the original Mega Man X. You play as X, running, dashing, wall-climbing and shooting through stages led by Maverick bosses, absorbing a new weapon from each one you defeat. Levels have been rebuilt in 3D graphics with 2D gameplay, and stage layouts, armour upgrade locations and boss patterns have been reworked from the original. Voiced cutscenes expand the story. Completing the game unlocks Vile Mode, which casts you as Vile with a different structure and a loadout system of interchangeable arm, shoulder and leg weapons instead of boss powers. The release also includes The Day of Sigma, an animated short that depicts events leading up to the game.
