Mission: Impossible on the NES is an action-adventure game based on the television series. You lead a team of three IMF agents and can switch between them at will, since each has his own abilities and equipment for dealing with obstacles. The game is played from an overhead, angled viewpoint as you move through cities and buildings, gathering items, avoiding or eliminating enemy agents, and completing objectives that advance the assignment. Disguises and gadgets let you slip past opposition, and some sections break away from the main exploration for driving or other set pieces. Progress depends on learning level layouts and choosing the right agent for each situation, as losing all three ends the mission. Passwords let you return to later stages.
