NASCAR Thunder 2004 is a stock car racing game in EA Sports' NASCAR line, built around the licensed drivers, teams and ovals of the NASCAR season. You can jump into single races on the game's roster of tracks, run a full championship season, or work through a long-term career in which you sign with a team, chase sponsors and develop your own driver. Handling sits between arcade and simulation: the cars are heavy, drafting and tire wear matter, and difficulty settings let you dial assists up or down. Damage and pit strategy factor into longer events, with pit crews handling fuel, tires and repairs under caution.
