Rally Cross is an off-road racing game for the original PlayStation. You race trucks and rally-style cars on dirt circuits filled with jumps, water crossings, banked turns and rough terrain that throws vehicles around and frequently rolls them onto their roofs. Handling is loose and physics-driven rather than precise, so recovering from slides and landings is a large part of driving well. Races are run against a full field of computer opponents, and the game supports two-player split-screen for head-to-head events. Vehicles differ in speed, weight and grip, and courses are laid out to encourage contact and shortcuts across the dirt.
