RoboCop on the original Xbox is a first-person shooter based on the film character. You see the action through RoboCop's visor as you patrol Detroit, working through mission stages against armed criminals and mechanical opposition. The Auto-9 pistol is your standard sidearm, supplemented by heavier weapons picked up along the way, and RoboCop's armour lets you absorb fire rather than relying on cover the way a human protagonist would. Objectives are relayed between and during missions, with HUD elements presenting targeting information and status readouts in keeping with the character's cybernetic viewpoint. Environments include city streets and interior locations, populated with civilians as well as hostiles. The game is single-player and uses the standard Xbox controller, with a save system tied to the console's hard drive.
