Terminator: Dawn of Fate is a third-person action game set during the future war between humanity and Skynet's machines. You fight alongside the human resistance in ruined urban environments, moving between cover, taking on Terminator endoskeletons and aerial hunter-killers, and pushing through objective-based missions on foot. Combat centers on the weapons you scavenge and carry, with a targeting system for locking onto machines while you keep moving. Levels mix firefights with squad-supported pushes through rubble-strewn streets, bunkers and machine facilities, and the presentation leans on the dark, industrial look associated with the film series' future sequences. Cutscenes carry the story between missions. Played with a controller on the original Xbox, it is a linear, mission-driven shooter rather than an open one.
