True Crime: Streets of L.A. casts you as Nick Kang, a volatile LAPD detective, in an open-world recreation of Los Angeles built around real street layouts. You move freely through the city, taking cars, responding to random street crimes and travelling to story missions. The action blends three styles: driving and vehicle pursuits, gunfights with a targeting system and slow-motion dives, and martial arts brawling with combos and throws you can extend through training. Your behaviour is tracked as a good cop or bad cop rating, and the campaign branches depending on whether you succeed or fail individual missions, so the story can follow different paths and reach different endings. Between missions you can practise at shooting and fighting ranges to unlock additional techniques.
