Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a 3D platformer for the Xbox with an Australian setting. You play as Ty, travelling from hub areas into levels built around bush, beach, outback and other locales, collecting items and taking on tasks given by the characters you meet. Boomerangs serve as the main tool and weapon, used to strike enemies, hit switches and solve puzzles, with new boomerang types offering elemental and special effects as the game goes on. Ty can glide, swim, climb and bite enemies at close range. Each level mixes combat with collection and exploration, and hidden objectives reward players who look beyond the main path. Australian animals and slang feature throughout.
