Voodoo Vince is a 3D platformer for the original Xbox. You play as Vince, a voodoo doll who comes to life and sets out through a version of Louisiana and New Orleans, moving through swamps, city streets and other themed areas. Standard platforming makes up much of the game, with jumping, climbing and combat against various enemies, alongside puzzles and collectibles gathered along the way. Its distinguishing mechanic is voodoo damage: because Vince is a doll, harm inflicted on him is transferred to nearby enemies, so you trigger set pieces that crush, burn, electrocute or otherwise injure Vince in order to clear the screen. The presentation leans on Southern gothic imagery and a jazz-influenced soundtrack, with a comic tone running through the dialogue and cutscenes.
