Wakeboarding Unleashed featuring Shaun Murray on the original Xbox is a trick-based extreme sports game set on the water. Towed behind a boat, you carve across the surface, use the wake as a ramp and chain spins, flips, grabs and rope tricks together for combo scores. Courses include rails, ramps and scenery to work into runs, and releasing the handle opens further options in the air. Each level sets objectives such as reaching a score, collecting items or landing particular tricks, and meeting them unlocks additional riders and locations. Environments range from open water to more stylised settings. Controls follow the combo-and-balance template used by other board sports games of the period, rewarding long linked runs over single stunts.
