WTA Tour Tennis on the original Xbox is a licensed tennis game centred on the women's professional tour, with real players and singles and doubles matches. Shots are selected with the face buttons for flat, topspin, slice and lob returns, and the strength and accuracy of each depends on your timing and how well you have moved into position. Court surfaces alter ball speed and bounce, changing how rallies develop. Alongside exhibition matches there is a tour mode in which you play through a run of tournaments and climb the rankings. Doubles matches bring partner coverage and net play into the picture. Match length, difficulty and other options can be adjusted before you start, so sessions can be short or drawn out.
