X-Men Legends is an action role-playing game on the original Xbox. You lead a squad of four X-Men through story missions, switching between them on the fly and combining melee attacks with mutant powers that draw from an energy meter. Characters earn experience, level up and gain skill points that can be spent to strengthen their abilities, and equipment can be found and assigned to adjust stats. The X-Mansion serves as a hub between missions, where you swap team members, browse character information and take on training simulations. The plot plays out through cutscenes and voiced dialogue as the team faces threats from familiar Marvel villains. Several players can share the same screen, each controlling one of the four active heroes, and drop in or out during play.
