Mr. Driller is a falling-block action puzzle game in which you drill downward through a shaft of coloured blocks. Blocks of the same colour that touch each other clear together, so breaking one piece can collapse a large mass, and the debris above then drops toward you. You have to keep descending while avoiding being crushed, and an air gauge drains constantly, refilled by picking up air capsules buried in the field. Hard brown blocks cost extra air to break and are best routed around. The aim is to reach the target depth before your air runs out, which makes the game a mix of quick reflexes and reading the block layout a few moves ahead. This Game Boy Color version puts the digging on a handheld screen.
