This Game Boy Color release adapts Rayman 2 into a 2D side-scrolling platformer rather than a 3D adventure. You control Rayman as he runs, jumps and throws his fist at enemies, using his helicopter hair to glide across long gaps and drop safely from heights. Levels are built around climbing, swinging and timing jumps over hazards, with collectibles hidden throughout the stages and secret routes to find by exploring away from the obvious path. The art uses colour-heavy sprite work sized for the handheld screen, with worlds themed around caves, forests and water areas. Boss encounters punctuate the progression. It plays as a compact handheld take on the series' platforming rather than a direct port of the console game.
