Dark Savior is an isometric action-adventure game for the Sega Saturn. You play a bounty hunter who arrives at an island prison after the creature he was transporting escapes, and must make his way through the facility and its inhabitants to track it down. Movement is grid-aware and jumping is central: much of the game involves timed leaps across platforms, ledges and moving surfaces viewed from a fixed diagonal angle, alongside conversations with prisoners and guards. Fights against major opponents switch to a separate close-quarters battle view where you trade attacks and blocks against a single enemy. The game is structured around multiple parallel scenarios that change which events occur and which characters you meet, so replaying takes you through a different version of the story rather than the same sequence again.
