A 2D one-on-one fighting game for the Sega Saturn, adapted from Capcom's Marvel-licensed arcade release. The roster draws on Marvel characters alongside additions from Capcom's fighting games, animated in the same hand-drawn style as the Street Fighter series. Its defining mechanic is the Infinity Gems: you collect and activate gems during a match to temporarily boost properties such as power, speed or defence, adding a layer of resource management on top of the usual special moves and super combos. Standard modes include arcade play against the computer and versus matches for two players on one console. Fighting follows the six-button layout familiar from Capcom's other titles, with air combos and multi-level super meters. The Saturn version benefits from the system's strengths in 2D sprite work.
