Road Rash on the Sega Saturn is a motorcycle racing game in which brawling with rival riders is part of every event. Races take place on open roads with civilian traffic, and you can punch, kick, or swing picked-up weapons such as clubs and chains to put opponents on the tarmac. Wrecking your own bike means a jog back to it, and police riders pursue the pack and can bring a run to an end. Winnings fund repairs and progressively faster machines. This CD-based version frames its races with live-action full-motion video segments and a licensed rock and alternative soundtrack played from disc. The action is viewed from behind the rider, with long road sections, oncoming vehicles, and roadside obstacles to negotiate while trading hits at speed.
