Steep Slope Sliders is a snowboarding game for the Sega Saturn. You pick a rider and descend downhill courses, building your score by launching off jumps and performing tricks such as grabs, spins and flips before landing cleanly. The scoring system rewards linking tricks together and holding them as long as possible without falling, so runs become an exercise in reading the terrain ahead and choosing where to take air. Courses vary in layout and difficulty, with slopes, ramps, rails and obstacles shaping the routes you can take. Riders differ in their handling and abilities, and additional content unlocks as you meet score requirements. The game is presented in 3D with a behind-the-rider camera, and it emphasizes trick performance over pure racing.
