Street Fighter Alpha 2 is a 2D one-on-one fighting game on the Sega Saturn, adapted from Capcom's arcade release. It uses the hand-drawn, anime-influenced art style of the Alpha series, with a roster drawn from earlier Street Fighter games alongside newer additions such as Sakura, Rose and Dan. Matches are best-of-three rounds fought on side-view stages, with six-button controls covering three punch and three kick strengths. The Alpha 2 system adds Custom Combos, which spend stored super meter to let you chain normals and specials into your own extended strings, plus Alpha Counters for reversing an opponent's pressure while blocking. Each fighter has a super combo gauge that builds through attacking and blocking and can be spent at multiple levels. Modes include arcade play against the CPU, versus, and training.
