NBA Hoopz on Dreamcast is an arcade basketball game centred on short, fast-paced matches using NBA teams and players. Rules are pared back so that fouls and stoppages largely disappear, keeping the ball in play and scores high. Dunks are heavily exaggerated, with players launching from well outside the paint, and consecutive made shots heat a player up, increasing speed and shooting effectiveness until the run ends. A turbo meter governs sprinting and drives, draining with use and refilling when you ease off. The control scheme is deliberately simple, with shoot, pass, and turbo covering most of what you need, which suits multiplayer sessions on one console. Unlockable players and modifiers let you alter team rosters and match conditions.
