Sports Jam is an arcade-style multi-sport game for the Sega Dreamcast. Rather than simulating a single sport in depth, it offers a set of short, self-contained sporting events that you play through in quick succession, each with simplified controls built around a few buttons and the analogue stick. The emphasis is on immediate arcade scoring and fast rounds rather than season play, tactics or deep rule sets. Events can be tackled solo or against another player on the same console, which is where much of the appeal sits. Presentation uses bright 3D visuals and a light, cheerful tone typical of Sega's arcade sports output on the system. Sessions are short, making it easy to pick up for a few rounds at a time.
