Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage is a third-person action game for the Sega Dreamcast based on Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga. You play as Guts, the Black Swordsman, swinging the enormous Dragonslayer through crowds of enemies while also using his prosthetic arm's cannon and other tools. Combat is built around wide sweeping attacks that can cut through several foes at once, and filling a rage meter lets Guts enter a berserk state where his attacks become far more destructive but he grows harder to control. The story is told through a large amount of animated cutscenes and voiced dialogue, following an original plot involving a plague that turns people into monsters. Levels move between towns, forests and castle interiors, with boss fights punctuating the chapters.
