Animaniacs on the Sega Genesis is a platform game based on the animated series. You control Yakko, Wakko and Dot as a group, switching between them on the fly to use their individual abilities, with the other two following along behind. The goal is to gather items scattered around the Warner Bros. studio lot and its themed areas, which parody films and genres, while avoiding Ralph the security guard and other pursuers. Rather than attacking enemies conventionally, much of the game is about evasion, timing and using the right sibling for the obstacle in front of you, such as reaching high ledges or moving heavy objects. Cartoon presentation runs throughout, with sprite work and music drawn from the show's style, and stages are built around exploration as much as straightforward running and jumping.
