NBA Live 97 on the Sega Genesis is a 16-bit version of EA Sports' basketball series, played from a scrolling side-on view with sprite-based players. You take licensed NBA teams through five-on-five games, passing, shooting, dunking, and switching defenders as possession turns over. Play calling, substitutions, and roster moves are handled through menus, and rules including quarter length and fouls can be adjusted before a game. Single games sit alongside season play with statistics tracking and playoff progression. A second controller supports head-to-head or cooperative games, with multitap options on compatible setups for more players. Presentation covers a scoreboard overlay, crowd audio, and sampled sound for the ball and rim. It is a more compact take on the series than the contemporaneous 32-bit versions.
This listing is for an authentic original cartridge — no reproductions. Every product we sell is cleaned and tested before it ships, and our games are backed by a 1-year warranty. Choose Game Only or Complete (CIB) above.
