Master of Monsters is a turn-based strategy game for the Sega Genesis played on maps divided into hexagonal tiles. You take the role of a summoner who conjures creatures from towers and sends them out to claim territory, capture enemy towers and destroy the opposing master. Each unit type has its own movement range, attack style and terrain preferences, and surviving battles lets creatures gain experience and eventually advance into stronger forms. Summoning costs magic power, which is generated by the towers you control, so expansion and army growth are tied together. Combat resolves automatically when units clash, making positioning, terrain and matchups the core of play. Battles are fought one map at a time against computer-controlled masters.
