A side-scrolling action game for the Sega Genesis, converted from the home computer original. You control Aarbron, a human transformed into a beast by dark magic, who sets out through hostile lands to confront the mage responsible. Play combines running, jumping and hand-to-hand attacks with exploration: stages contain doors and passages that lead to sub-areas, and you need to find keys and items to open the way forward. Enemies attack in set patterns and contact costs health, so progress depends on learning layouts and hazard placement. The game is known for its detailed, heavily parallax-scrolling backgrounds and large character sprites, along with a distinctive soundtrack. Difficulty is high, with limited energy and few opportunities to recover it, making memorisation of each area a large part of getting through.
